Free deal right under your butt

Guest Blogger- Matt (husband)
There are free deals right under your butt or maybe your husband's butt. I looked in my wallet the other day and I found a fully filled out free movie stamp card for a free ticket that had been in there for a few months and a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart . I told this to my friend Tom and he had a $10 card to Wal-Mart and a expired $25 card to ticketmaster. My sister in-law overheard us and looked in her wallet and she had a $25 gift card to Kohl's that she didn't know she had and just bought a $60 dress at Dillard's to her regret. She could have bought it at Kohl's with the gift card and saved 25 bucks. She also had really good coupons and some stamps she forgot she had. Now she is going to take the dress back and save 25 bucks at Kohl's.
So check your wallet or you spouse's wallet and start saving.

Note from Jessica: Thanks to my husband for 2 awesome guest posts today! You will be seeing a lot more of that on days like today where there is ZERO time for me to blog. Also, I just noticed that my blog count has crept over the 1,000 mark! I am sooo excited about this. :) Thanks to everyone for reading my blog, signing up to become a follower (right hand side of the blog/halfway down), telling others about it and for being so encouraging and supportive. :)

Free Moby

Guest Blogger- Matt (husband)

Are you a fan of Moby? I am a little bit but more than that, I am a fan of free music. All you have to do is register here to create a free account, fill out a form stating why you need the music and then download what you want for free. Most of the music hasn't been published on his albums, but hey, it's free music. This music should be used for film making. It could be great for a home video or something. Hope you enjoy.

Here is note from Moby.

hi,

Franklin Goose-free $5 credit for every review you write...NO LIMIT!

This is a company I have just heard of, but from a very reputable source. It is a baby product company that has everything you could imagine.

They are offering a $5 credit for every review you write...NO limit! One lady has written 53 reviews, thus has a credit in her account for $265!! PLUS, their shipping is flat rate $5 and the credits can cover the shipping as well. This is almost too good to be true. The only downside is that this offer expires on March 31st. So, you have 3 days to complete your reviews.

What is even more amazing is that they are offering a 20% discount if you choose to bank your credits for 6 months to a year. The details of that offer is HERE.

Register in the top right hand corner.

Find a product that you have used or own and click on it. An easy one to start with is the book Goodnight Moon. Haven't we all read that at least once? Or, in my case, 52,373 times.

Click "add your thoughts" and do it!

Go HERE for more details. And check out some Frequently Asked Questions. Apparently, the company is being inundated (obviously! it's a great deal!) and they are legitimizing every review before they give you the credit so it is taking a few days to get your credits. I am going to go get started on some reviews right now!!

Some free samples

I don't know if I am alone in this, but I love getting free stuff in the mail. :) And, I think sample sizes of stuff is fun too!

Free trial package from Special K This pack includes a free Special K Protein Meal bar as well as coupons for $1 off Special K Protein Meal Bars and $1 off Special K Protein Shakes. There are also some Special K printable coupons HERE

For teachers or homeschoolers, you can sign up for a free Lego kit. Create something with the kit and submit it in their contest and you might win something!

Up to 99% off on ChristianBook.com

ChristianBook.com is running a Spring Fever sale right now. They have some items that are 99% off!!! Can it get any better? There are many items under $1 here.

So, tell me

I have been doing this blog for almost 2 weeks now. I need some inspiration and direction. What do you want to see more of? What kind of deals interest my viewing audience? Do you like free stuff, certain stores, more cooking posts, more book reviews...? There is soooo much stuff out there and I definitely don't have time to get to all of it, but I want to know where I should focus my efforts. Any input at all would be awesome! And, sincerely, thank you for reading my blog and participating. :)

$3 Huggies Coupons

It's not often that we see diaper coupons worth this much so this is pretty exciting!! Print them while you can.

You can print two each from the following links: HERE and HERE. On the "bricks coupons site" hit the back button a couple times and you can print a second one.

YUM!!!!

So, let me tell you about my sweet friend Odilie (rhymes with totally!). We met in Barnes and Noble when we both only had 1 kid each. She had her little girl Sofia and I had Reagan. They were only 6-8 months or so. Sofia and Reagan started having a "conversation" and all of a sudden I was inviting Odilie to a mom's group called Beyond Laundry led by one of my other sweet friends, Angela.

She came and we have been friends ever since. She now has had 4 kids in the time that I have had 2 so she has been super busy. Like having 4 kids is not enough, she also is opening an audiology practice as she is a certified audiologist. Check her website out here for more information. She wanted to have a grand opening so I offered to make some cookies for her big day. I ended up making homemade strawberry lemonade as well.

As I started baking and juicing, I realized, I should make this into a blog post and share the recipes! I also realized that I should double both recipes and give the other half to our awesome neighbors The Morris Family. They are so much fun and we absolutely love spending time with them. Oh, and I must note that I literally found the most amazing spinach quiche in our MAILBOX from Laurie Morris and we ate every bite. It was so good. You have to return favors like that. You just have to.
I must acknowledge first where I acquired these recipes and funny enough, from two different women whose names both happen to be Nancy! So, thanks Nancy and Nancy for the recipes. I have used them both dozens of times and get rave reviews every time.

Disclaimer: By the way, I don't claim to be a photographer, so the pictures are not the best. I figured some pictures are better than none!

So, here we go. My first ever food post!
Chocolate Toffee Cookies
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
2 t. vanilla (I do a tad less)
2 eggs
2.5 cups of BREAD flour (very important)
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 package semisweet (I use milk chocolate) chips
1 package Heath Bits O Brickle (picture below)

Cookie ingredients
Whip butter. Add sugar and brown sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
In separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Then add this mixture a little bit at a time to the butter mixture above just until mixed. Don't overdo it.
My little mixer

All mixed!
Then add the bag of chocolate chips and the bag of toffee pieces. Stir together with a spoon.

Final cookie dough mixture. Ready to spoon onto cookie sheets and bake at 375 degrees for 10-11 minutes. Start with 10 and you might be good. Let rest for 1 minute and place on cooling racks.
Strawberry Lemonade
1/2 c. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 lb. strawberries, washed, chopped in quarters
2 c. sugar
Water
Strawberry Lemonade ingredients
This electric juicer is awesome. My mom gave it to me and it works great! The kid working it is pretty adorable too!

Dissolve the 2 cups of sugar with enough water to cover the sugar on a med-high heat. Stir often and keep it on the stove just until it dissolves completely.
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender (strawberries, lemon juice, sugar water and add some cold water)
Then I put it into a pitcher with some ice and keep adding cold water to the pitcher until I like the sweetness level. I also cut a few slices of lemon to put on top of the pitcher to make it pretty.
Hence the title of the post, YUM!!! ;)

Swagbucks Testimony

Just the title of this post is cracking me up, but seriously. This is pretty awesome. My friend Heather, who gave me full permission to share her testimony, saw my post on swagbucks the other day (if you missed it-go HERE) and signed up! Well, she decided to take advantage of the special offers (i.e. signing up for netflix, magazines, etc.) to earn some quick swagbucks and so this is what she did:

"So today I have made 11,540 by ordering Directv and also web searches. We have no cable but use Netflix. Lately I have been ordering bunches of Disney and kid movies. I saw Directv has Disney and Animal Plant for $29.99 a month no start up costs or deposits and I am just canceling my Netflix. The whole thing only added $10 to my monthly budget but now I can trade in my swagbucks for $100 at Amazon. I order lots of things on there including gluten free products so in my eyes I will break even for 10 months ($100 divided by $10 I pay out each month) LOL. That is my swagbucks testimony lol, thanks for letting me know about it. -Heather"

GO Heather!!! I think that is so cool! ALSO, Heather signed up at houseparty.com. See my post here if you missed it and already won a party! I am getting envious. :)

So, today is Mega Swagbucks Day. They have this every Friday and will award higher value bucks for searches....30, 40, 50, even 100!!! So, sign up here, do some extra searching and earn some bucks to get some free stuff!

Swagbucks

One of my new favorite things...Swagbucks! I had heard and read about Swagbucks for over a year before I finally signed up. I have now been using it for several months. It took me so long because I didn't understand what it was. I so wish I would have done it a year ago!!!

Swagbucks is simply a search engine. Instead of going to google.com or yahoo.com to search for something, go to swagbucks.com and search there. Every time you search, there is a chance to earn "swagbucks" which are points (digital dollars) that you can eventually redeem for prizes, i.e. gift cards (Amazon.com is a favorite one), clothes, video games, video game consoles, the list goes on and on (Matt wants me to earn enough to get him an X-Box whereas I want to save mine and redeem for Starbucks gift cards...we'll see who wins that discussion...haha!)

So, all you do is sign up and start searching! I use swagbucks search for everything. I never use my favorites to go directly to a website anymore because there is always a chance to earn swagbucks instead by searching for it!!

Here are tips to earn extra swag bucks:

1. Install the toolbar
2. Search everything. Even if you already know the web address i.e. yahoo mail
3. Check My widget for codes on the bottom of my blog (see below for a more detailed explanation)
4. Shop through them
5. Trade in old phones (I am going to do this and possibly get 550 swagbucks if Matt lets me trade it in vs. trying to sell it on ebay!)
6. Check my blog!

There are lots of other ways to earn which are clearly stated at swagbucks.com in "ways to earn". It is so user friendly and fun!! If you are going to be searching anyway, why not get free "swag" while you're at it?!?

Also, on the bottom of my blog, there is something called a "widget". I have no idea what that means, but I do know that if you click on "codes", there will be swag codes in there sometimes that you enter onto swagbucks "enter your swag code" on the main page for extra swagbucks! Check the widget whenever you are on my blog and maybe there will be a code available. If you have any questions at all, I will do my best to answer them!!

You get 30 Swabucks to start you off. Just sign up HERE to start earning free stuff!!!!! There I go with those exclamation marks again.

Free lava chocolate cake from Domino's Pizza

Complete a short survey for a free Lava Chocolate Cake with your next delivery order at Domino's Pizza. I did it, it worked! They either give you a code to use at the end of the survey or I have also heard that they e-mail it to some people instead.

10 pairs of sunglasses for $10!!!

I saw this deal weeks ago before I started this blog and tried to get it and they were sold out!! SO, I just saw it again on facebook and I jumped on it. It was actually a little over $15 with shipping, BUT if you sign up for shopathome.com HERE which is a cash back site (they give you a certain percentage of cash back for shopping through their site versus going directly to the site you want to shop at), you will be paying around $10!! Every site you can think of is on ShopAtHome and I have used this site for well over a year. If you have heard of Ebates, this is the same concept.

1.) So, sign up for ShopAtHome and you get $5 for signing up if you are new and then you will get 6% cash back on the sunglasses.

2.) Search for Graveyardmall.com and use that link to get to the graveyardmall.com website

3.) Check out! After rebates and shipping, your total will be around $10 for 10 pairs of name brand sunglasses! Note the rebates are not instant rebates.

David and Nancy

On Friday night, Matt and I went to the wedding of some really great friends of ours, David and Nancy. Matt was actually performing the ceremony so the night before we attended the rehearsal dinner as well. It was one of the best weddings I have ever been to. The ceremony was at a hotel right on the beach which was gorgeous and the reception was absolutely beautiful as well. The most amazing part of it all was the love and joy that these two had all over their faces.

I don't normally cry at weddings (except my own!), but I found myself shedding tears more than once last night. Their vows to each other were so heartfelt and then the toasts at the reception...oh my, I lost it when Nancy's brother Don made a toast to the newlyweds. "David, thank you for making my sister so happy. I have never seen her this happy." My sister-in-law, who was sitting next to me, and I were both drying and fanning our eyes.

My phone didn't take the best pictures, but I will share what I was able to get. Congratulations David and Nancy! We love you guys and were honored and blessed to be a part of your special day!

Sorry to my sister-in-law Jessica for being the object of the red disco light at the exact time of the picture!

With my good friend, Angela, the matron of honor and sister of the bride-keeper of the money from the cash dance for the bride and groom

If men and women yield to God
And of His love partake,
The marriage bond that joins two hearts
No power on earth can break. —D. De Haan

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I know you have all noticed it. And I admit it. I am obsessed with exclamation marks. I don't know what it is. I feel like maybe if I don't end a sentence with one, you will think I am not happy. I am having a really hard time not using one right now. Or now. All of these periods seem so dismal to me. Why is that? Doesn't this post seem so depressing without at least one...or two...or one or two after every sentence? Like just there, I wanted to put a question mark and an exclamation mark together to show my emphaticness (so not a word, I'm sure) about the question I just asked. So, be forewarned. I know I use exclamation marks a lot and I like it. And it's my blog. So there. Wait. So there!!! That looks so much better to me! :) To appease some of you, here are some adorable St. Patrick's Day pictures of my kids with their hats from their "Ma" (my mom). Thanks Mom! I don't think Reagan took his off all day.

Reagan made this Lego castle all by himself and followed the step-by-step instructions perfectly!!! I was so impressed.

House Party

One more for today...well, maybe only one. We'll see!

While we are on the favorite things kick, this is one of my absolute favorite websites ever. It is houseparty.com. They give you amazing discounts and FREE stuff from brands you know and love. All they want you to do in return is host a party with a few friends and family in your home to get the word out about the products. With each party comes your very own party pack with the coolest stuff in it.

I have won parties for X-Box Live, Dominos pizza (I got a $75 gift card amongst other stuff!), Gerber baby food (at a time when I really needed it!) and the most recent one I got was Arnold's Sandwich Thins (that round bread that is only 100 calories and has no high-fructose corn syrup in it). My sister-in-law won a Fisher-Price party a while back and got over $500 of free toys for her son! I can't use enough exclamation marks to describe the excitement when you win a party.

They have different parties to apply for all the time and I believe you can sign up for a mailing list so you can be the first to know when new parties are put on the site. For example, today, they e-mailed me to tell me that the Bicycle Playing Cards party is open for applications. I realllly want to win that one. I love playing card games!

Mint.com

I have been hearing and readings lots about mint.com lately. It is an online program that tracks all of your spending for you and it notifies you weekly about your budget and if you go over in any category. It's so much more than that though. It is very extensive and has tons of different angles to your finances beyond budgeting...taxes, understanding investing, save money, pay off debt, save for retirement, buy a car...those are a few of the categories.

They offer a really in-depth overview which will answer lots of the questions you have in your mind right now. And, of course, the best part...it is free! I love free!

TravelZoooooooo

I have that song from The Sound of Music, "These Are a Few of my Favorite Things." When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling saddddd, I simply remember my favorite things and then...OK, on with the post. This is actually one of Matt's favorite things. TravelZoo's top 20! TravelZoo is a discount travel site that actually has some amazing deals. They come out with their top 20 best deals on a weekly basis and you can sign up to get them sent to your inbox. Matt and I like getting the e-mails because we LOVE to travel and when we see a 6 night Ireland vacation including air and rental car for $699 (one of this week's deals!), we look at each other and say, One day!! :)

Click HERE to check it out and/or sign up for their weekly e-mail

Side note: Ever since I started this blog, my husband keeps thinking of stuff for me to post! I love having the help, input and support, so keep it coming Matt!
