Free ABC Flashcards and other homeschool recommendations

I am officially a homeschooling mom (and loving it!!) so you are going to see a lot more homeschool type/education discounts and freebies around here. Feel free to let me know if you find any good deals out there.

Print out some free ABC flashcards to use with your kids. It is a downloadable PDF and the creator also gives some good ideas on how best to use the cards. They are absolutely adorable.

The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home, Revised and Updated Edition

In similar news, I am doing the Classical Education route with my kids and if you are interested, everything you need to know is in the book, The Well-Trained Mind. Within that book, the author gives awesome recommendations for every grade including babies! She walks you through step by step how to teach your kids using the Classical Method from the time they are born (literally! see below...) til they graduate.

Slow and Steady Get Me Ready

There is a book called Slow and Steady Get Me Ready that gives you a very easy activity to do with your child every week from age 0, week 1 to age 4 week 52. I so wish I had this book when my oldest was born. I ended up ordering it for my 2 year old. Even though he is already 2, we started working through the activities for his age and he is loving it. I actually got the one published in 2000 (Here) because it was quite a bit cheaper and it seems just fine.

The links above for these 2 books are from Amazon which is where I have found that these particular books are the cheapest.

Google CFL

Google CFL is a brand new website that is run by some good friends of ours. It is a search engine powered by Google, but there are local advertisers and giveaways. Go check it out, click on giveaways and enter for a chance to win a $50 Thai Thai gift card! YUM. :) While you're there, make GoogleCFL.com your homepage.

New Disney Movie Rewards (DMR) Code!

We have discussed Disney Movie Rewards (DMR) in the past HERE. Now you have the chance to earn 5 more points! Enter code E6NV85JKR for the points. When I logged in it also asked me to enter my address into my profile and I earned an extra 25 points!

Also, register your current DVD's and Blu-rays to earn extra points.

You might think it's not worth it because you don't buy Disney movies. I suggest just signing up and entering the free codes as you get them. It's free to sign up and free to enter the codes which means you will be able to redeem for free prizes later one!

Swagbucks: 70 swagbucks for new sign-up!

If you've been holding out on signing up for Swagbucks, NOW is the time to do it because you will get 70 swagbucks for signing up instead of the regular 30. Just sign up and use the code BackToSchool to get your 70 swagbucks added to your account.

The code is valid through August 15, 2010.

New to swagbucks or want to learn more? Check out my post on how to earn free gift cards and tons more.

P.S. It is only 450 swagbucks for a $5 Amazon gift card. Since I signed up several months ago, I have earned enough points for over $200 of gift cards. I have used them for wedding gifts, homeschool items for my kids and plan on saving as many as I can to use for Christmas shopping! You can get anything on Amazon and the GCs never expire!! Thus, why I love swagbucks. :)

P.P.S. Amazon isn't the only gift card available. My friend has been redeeming her swagbucks for $50 Southwest gift cards. Free air travel just for searching the internet like you normally would!

Target: $1/1 bakery product=FREE!

JCPenney: FREE shipping on shoes + $10 off $10 purchase!

This is an amazing deal. JCPenney is offering FREE shipping on any shoe purchase on their website. Combine that with a $10 off any $10 order using the code TEN2YOU to get an incredible deal on shoes! Their prices start as low as $4.99!

By the way, when I first saw this I was thinking only about women's shoes, but no, ALL shoes. I started looking through the items and there are a TON of kids shoes and a bunch of those Robeez type shoes for babies. They are SO cute!!!

I think my kids might be getting some new shoes out of this deal. :) I saw these Cars ones my youngest son would LOVE.

Shop through ShopAtHome to get 3% cashback plus a $5 sign-up bonus if you're a new sign-up. For more information on ShopAtHome, click on the tag below this post that says "shopathome." I do all my online shopping through them and just got a check for $50.01 in the mail today from them!!

Plus, if you have a JCP Rewards account (it’s free to sign up for) they emailed out to say you’d get a $10 Reward to use on any future shoe purchase when you purchased two pair of shoes this month.

I have heard of lots of people ordering a pair of shoes for as low as $1.07 shipped! If you can’t get the coupon code or free shipping to work on the website, just call your order in and they should be able to help you over the phone 1-800-322-1189.

Kohls.com: Men's shirts less than $8 shipped + 4% cash back

Kohls.com has a number of shirts on clearance for as low as $7.20. These shirts are normally $36! Sort them by the lowest price to see the lowest priced shirts available. Today only, shipping is 99 cents per item. Use the coupon code NEW8874 to get an additional 10% off!

To sweeten the deal even more, shop Kohls.com through ShopAtHome (a website that gives you cash back for shopping through them as the middle man). If you are new to ShopAtHome, you get $5 just for signing up + 4% cash back for Kohls.com. The other day I shopped on Scholastic.com through ShopAtHome and got 10% cash back!! Sign up HERE or any of the links above and then search for "Kohl's", click on it and click the green shop now button on the righthand side. It will take you directly to the Kohl's site.

Let's do the math: Buy a shirt that is $7.20- 0.72 (10% off)+.99 shipping= $7.47 - 4% cashback from ShopAtHome (receive it in the form of a check when your total reaches $20 including your first time sign up of $5) 0.72= men's dress shirt for $6.75!!! :)
