Roger's Homegoing Celebration

Still on a Shutterfly kick-must be because I am busy making books, Christmas cards and ordering prints to one day get back to scrapbooking. Anyway, just thought I'd share this book I made almost 2 years ago for my grandpa's funeral-what my grandma called his "homegoing celebration." My 5 year-old randomly asks about great-grandpa being in heaven all the time. It is a tough thing to try to explain, but I am thankful I am able to give him the hope that we will see him again one day in heaven because we believe in Jesus. So thankful! Anyway, just thought I'd share!

I have been using Shutterfly for my Christmas cards for years now. They are always super high quality and right on time. The number of different design and number of pictures per card is probably the most diverse of any company. Shutterfly also has a great reputation. My mom ordered cards from them once and they didn't come (or so she thought). She called them and they sent a new pack overnight no charge, no questions asked. Unfortunately, she found that her neighbor had picked them up for her knowing she was out of town, but not knowing I was coming by to get them so we figured they were lost or stolen. Even so, I was very impressed with the customer service. The ease of using the site too is so great. Upload, crop, red eye, save! It couldn't be simpler.

Book Review: Jungle Warfare

I received Jungle Warfare by Christopher A. Cunningham from BookSneeze to review. So, this was just not my kind of book. And, I can't blame the author for that, but I am not a big "how-to" book fan.

Having said that, let me expound. It is a "basic field manual for Christians in sales" and it is written in devotional format. Since I am NOT in sales, that is obviously the issue. For anyone who is in sales and wants a "22-day power-packed battle plan," this would be the book for you! It is full of verses and prayers and practical ways to become a better salesperson so in that vein, I would highly recommend it. :)

Book Review: The Butterfly Effect

I am catching up on some book reviews!

The Buttefly Effect is one of the best books I have ever read. I received a copy to review from BookSneeze. It is all about the destiny each and everyone of us has on this earth. How every single choice we make matters. It really matters! This is something I would classify as a "gift book." It's about a 15-20 minute read, but incredibly impacting. I think that everyone should read it and it would be a great graduation/new baby/new job/really anything kind of present to give to someone. My husband read it and actually preached about part of it the following Sunday after he read it!

Book Review: The Twelfth Imam

I was SO excited to receive The Twelfth Imam from the Tyndale Blog Network to review. My dad had gotten me interested in Joel Rosenberg books a few months back and I was halfway through his series that started with the book The Last Jihad (a five book series). My dad actually was really looking forward to getting a copy of The Twelfth Imam for himself and I was planning on buying it when it was released, but then it came up as a review book and I jumped at the chance. The book is actually on its way to Kenya so my dad can read it now too!

As with all of my book reviews, I don't want to give too much away so I will keep it brief and vague, but I will tell you that The Twelfth Imam is a GREAT book. My husband does not enjoy reading per se, but he jumped in to this book with both feet and absolutely loved it. Apparently, it will have more books to follow and at the end of it, Matt was like, I cannot believe I have to wait so long for the next book to come out! He was bummed...which that, in and of itself, will tell you it is an incredible book. Joel Rosenberg uses current events and Biblical prophecy to bring his stories to life. He is incredibly intelligent and you can tell that he really does his research. You are translated to locations all across the globe along with the characters as they travel to and fro. Grab a copy of this book and if you like it, check out some of Joel Rosenberg's other books! You will not be disappointed.
